What kind of people become members of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Rotary? People just like you who have concern for others-people who want to enhance their community through gifts of their time, efforts, and, yes, sometimes money.
 

Here in the Palos Verdes Peninsula area, that includes the South Bay, San Pedro and other harbor cities, the our Rotary Club has provided tens of thousands of dollars for financial aid to students who might have otherwise missed an opportunity to attend college; honored our community's teachers with our signature "Educator of the Year" event; and put smiles on children's faces during the Christmas holiday season. Rotarians have served as a volunteer labor pool for such worthwhile projects as this Concours d'Elegance, the Harbor Area Boys and Girls Clubs, the Palos Verdes Street Fair, and Habitat for Humanity.
 

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Rotary Club works with the youth of our community. We sponsor the Rotarac Club Peninsula High School and founded another Rotarac Club at Palos Verdes High. We conduct annual speech and art contests for the students, with cash awards to those judged to be the best among the participants. Many inner-city boys have the experience of scout camp due to our member's generous support in conjunction with the efforts of BSA.
 

Our Rotary Club reaches beyond the local community to serve communities around the world through the power of Rotary International and our PV Rotary Foundation. The PV Rotary Foundation has donated gurneys to hospitals and clinics in Mexico, clean water to residents in India, and the gift of mobility by working with the Free Wheelchair Mission to provide wheelchairs in third-world countries.
