As of January 13, 2014, India completed three consecutive years without a single wild polio case being reported from any part of the country, thereby achieving the three-year milestone necessary to achieve polio-free certification from the World Health Organization. Read the full article from the Indian Express here. Other sources citing India's polio-free status include Rotary's End Polio Now page and BBC News India.

The annual Rotary International Float was again featured in the Rose Parade in Pasadena on January 1, 2014. The parade had over one million viewers along the parade route, and was broadcasted around the world. It was an opportunity to publicize our organization and our dedication to ending polio throughout the world.
We are delighted to announce that RYLA is completely SOLD OUT! Our thanks to the clubs who registered and paid for their attendees before the deadline (click here for a listing of club reservations). There will be a waiting list. To be on it, please send your check for $190.00 payable to “Rotary District 5280” for each student. Your check will be held pending the availability of any open positions. And while we know that some clubs may be disappointed, please understand that the facility can only hold a limited number of attendees and consideration was given to all clubs who sent their count and check by the deadline. Any questions or concerns, please contact RYLA co-chair Elyse Beardsley at 310-466-0214.
With gratitude for your support,
Elyse Beardsley, RYLA co-chair
