Posted by Mike Thompson on Feb 02, 2013 The stars are shining bright in District 6760.
We have three clubs that has reached their goal or within $1: Hall-Gates, Murfreesboro and Franklin Breakfast.
Five more clubs are glowing and within $30 of their goal: Murfreesboro Breakfast, Clarksville Sunrise, Somerville, Ripley, and Brownville.
It's just not the money; we need to keep our Foundation full of stars that will shine not just at home but around the world.
Thirty-two Clubs have not yet sent in their contributions to date. Let’s go Club Presidents, Secretaries and Foundation Chairs starting right now, make sure all contributions are sent in on a monthly basis. Our District Designated Funds (50% of APF) which includes, District Simplified Grants, Scholarships Grants and Matching Grants are all dependent on our contributions to the Annual Program Funds. Remember 50% of our APF comes back to us.
To be eligible for any 2013-14 District Grants your Club must be a contributor. Where Does your Club Stand? Check under the “Site Pages” go down the listings - select Star Club Program – select Per Capita listing and Alpha Club listing. | Posted by Mike Thompson on Jan 28, 2013 To help prepare for the upcoming Presidents Elect Training Seminar Rotarians are asked to complete a membership survey with the District wide results to be shared with incoming club presidents. In District 6760, 28 clubs have had at least one person complete the survey. Currently 17 clubs have fewer than 5 respondents and a large number of clubs who do not have any participants. The survey period ends at 11:59 p.m. Friday, 1 February. He unveiled the RI theme during the opening plenary session of the 2013 International Assembly in San Diego, California, USA, the annual training event for incoming district governors. “If we really want to take Rotary service forward, then we must make sure that every single Rotarian has the same feeling about Rotary that each one of us here has today,” Burton said. “We need to make sure that every Rotarian has a meaningful role to play, that they’re all making a contribution, and that their contribution is valued.” | Posted by Mike Thompson on Dec 10, 2012 The application is now available for Will R. Manier Jr Memorial Scholarships for any boy or girl residing in Rotary District 6760 who plans to enroll in the freshman class of an institution of higher learning in any state. Four scholarships with a value of $3,000 each are awarded annually, with two girls and two boys being selected each year. These scholarships have been awarded since the 1956-57 school year in honor of Manier who was a Charter member of the Nashville Rotary Club which was organized in 1913. He was President of the Nashville Club during the 1921-22 Rotary year, and District Governor during the 1923-24 year. Under his leadership many new Rotary clubs were established. He was named President of Rotary International for the 1936-37 year and served Rotary with great distinction. Until his death on January 31, 1953, he was recognized as one of the outstanding leaders of the Rotary world. All applications must be filed with the local Rotary Club on or before March 15. The Awards Committee of the Rotary Club shall select two applicants – one boy and one girl. The applications of the two chosen by the Awards Committee shall be forwarded to the District Chairman by March 29. | Posted by Mike Thompson on Sep 01, 2012 For sixty-five years Ambassadorial Scholars have studied around the world representing Rotary's commitment to global peace and understanding. The program will end in 2013 with Future Vision but you still have the chance to have one of these outstanding young people tell your membership about their experiences and the effect it has had on them. Since 1947 The Rotary Foundation has awarded $532-million for these scholarships to 41,000 young men and women, two of those recently returned to the District.

With the charge this year to "Embrace, Energize and Entertain" there was ample opportunity for the over 250 Rotarians and guests to do just that. Representatives of thirty-eight clubs had fourteen hours of Rotary content to choose from and seven hours of scheduled fellowship and social time that made for a balanced two days of activities.
The conference was held at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs on 18-19 May with Friday night's gathering at the sixty-third annual Franklin Rodeo produced by the Franklin Noon Rotary Club. Special guests at the conference included Rotary International President's Representative PDG Thomas S. Payne III from North Carolina District 7720 and Keynote Speaker Greg Krauska, a management consultant from Minnesota. Krauska said of the gathering "I came away inspired!" and the Rotarians were "Great people making incredible impact".
An important part of the event is the awards for outstanding clubs and individuals including Rotarians of the Year Audrey Roberts (Martin), Charlie Brewer (Lawrenceburg) and Ed Maupin (Murfreesboro). The complete list of recipients is available at this link.
