District 5190

Captain’s Log: Stardate 13215.7 We are rapidly approaching the Terran system in the Sol Sector of the Alpha Quadrant. On arrival we will celebrate the voyages of the Clubs of Starship 5190, whose 12 month mission is to boldly serve others, while having more fun than Rotarians have ever had before! We will be beaming down to our District Conference at John Ascuaga’s Nugget, in the Terran city of Sparks, on stardate 13517.5 (May 17, 2013 at 12:00 pm PST).

As the Captain of this fine ship, I am personally inviting you and your entire family to transport to the Nugget and join together with Rotarians from all across Galaxy 5190. You will be inspired, educated, entertained, and energized as you celebrate the success we have had in implementing our planetary quest of “Peace Through Service”.

Come hear stories from local and international "heroes" whose actions to promote a better humanity will inspire you. The event will feature a welcome address from Rotary 5190 District Governor Sam Wilbanks, two panel discussions and keynote speaker, Emily Jonas, an Ambassador and Response Team Member for Shelter Box International who is actively involved in local and international service efforts.

Ethics Initiative Seminar Coming March 9, 2013

In 2009, The Ethics Initiative introduced a ten-module ethics and leadership program, Living The Four-Way Test. Piloted through RYLA, the topics of Integrity and Leadership have resonated throughout our Rotary world. In addition to RYLA, Living The Four-Way Test materials have been incorporated into Interact, Rotaract, RYE, and Rotary Clubs. There is a thirst for more!

Over the last year, the EI team has been focusing on materials designed for use in Rotary Clubs specifically.

Ignite Program Well Underway!

District 5190 Clubs are well underway with the IGNITE program. Many have already achieved Premier Club status.

Everything you need to know about the IGNITE program is now available on the MEMBERSHIP tab, some of which has been updated. This includes a compete President's Package.

They are: Alturas, Amador UpCountry, Auburn, Auburn Gold Country, Bishop Noon, Carson City Noon, Carson City Sunset, Fallon, Georgetown Divide, Ione, Jackson, Nevada County South, Penn Valley, Plymouth Foothills, Pollock Pines-Camino, Portola, Quincy, Reno Midtown, Reno Sunrise, Smith Valley, Sparks Centennial Sunrise, Susanville Sunrise, Tahoe Incline, Westwood-Lake Almanor, Winnemucca and Yerington.
