September 2012 Message from District Governor Joe
September is New
Generations Month. Imagine
a new generation of Rotarians taking our message of “Service above Self” forward, building on all our endeavors and
examples. They will come from our newest
Generations. Learn how young people ages
12-30 can get involved in Rotary’s New Generations Programs; Interact,
Rotaract, RYLA and Youth Exchange.
Congratulations
to the Rotary Club of East Greenwich RI
for Chartering our newest Rotaract Club
at New England Institute of Technology, (NEIT). What a way to celebrate our New Generations
Month.
President
Tanaka’s two main priorities are:
Eradicate Polio and Grow Membership.
We are making progress towards his Polio Goal. To date this year 104 new cases have been
identified; Afghanistan 24, Pakistan 20, and Nigeria 60. One hundred and four is too many, but a far
cry from the 350,000 cases in 1985.
Every
month is Membership Month. Let’s stay
focused on growing our wonderful organization.
It can be as easy as just asking your friends to a meeting or telling
them about your Rotary moment and what
it is that makes Rotary so close to your heart.
Upcoming
events: September 19th - Community Volunteer Recognition Night,
Lombardo’s, Randolph, MA; October 6th - Rotary Day of Success: A one stop seminar, covering all major areas
for a Club’s Success.
Let’s
make this the Best Rotary Year Ever, however please keep in mind “Tempus Fugit”
time does fly.
Join Us on Saturday, October 6th at White's of Westport for
Rotary District 7950's Day of Success
A One Stop Seminar covering all major areas for Club success!
Note: All clubs should strive to send at least four people - one for each "track"
It is recommended that Rotary Clubs pay for each attending member.
