These trips have a profound effect upon the individual. If you ever have a chance to go on one, you should; it will change you forever. | Posted by Angelika Posselt on Jul 10, 2012 At a recent meeting, we presented one of the 2 PHFs, which we awarded this year, to Burns Lake's Mayor Luke Strimbold. At 21 years old, we believe that Luke is the second youngest mayor in all of Canada. | Posted by Chris Offer on Jul 07, 2012 Rotary Peace Fellow Saad Kairm who is in the first month of his studies at Chulatongkorn University sends a personal report. | Posted by Chu Wu on Jul 17, 2012 On June 27, 2012, Anne Baker was installed as President 2012-13 of the Rotary Club of Powell River. Two Past Presidents and the current President of the Rotary Club of Burnaby Metrotown all flew to Powell River for this auspicious occasion. This reminds us that in March Anne tried to fly from Powell River to Seattle for PETS 2012 without a Passport!! | Posted by Chu Wu on Jun 29, 2012 On June 28, 2012, during the installation luncheon of 2012-13 President and Club Executives of the Rotary Club of New Westminster, Michael Crean was presented with the Rotary International Service Above Self Award by DG Hans Doge. Michael Crean became only the 9th Rotarians in District 5040 to receive this distinguished honour in Rotary.
Michael Crean joins Irwin Stewart and George Sandwith as 3 Rotarians from the Rotary Club of New Westminster to be honoured with the Service Above Self Award. Together, they represent 1/3 of the recipients from District 5040 to have ever been selected for this prestigious award. Congratulations, the Rotary Club of New Westminster! | Posted by Chris Offer on Jun 22, 2012 DG Rebecca MacPherson installed as Governor for 2012-2013 |
